A new year approaches...a fresh new start for resolutions...It seems to me that making resolutions to change behavior you have been unable to change for at least the past year, and most likely your entire life, is a bit absurd.

I am addictive and compulsive. I can't get off the crack, and I am addicted to web porn...but wait, the year has just upped itself another digit. I now have the power to be a sane and sober person. Thank you New year, Couldn't have done it without ya...

...and so another X-mas has passed, and I am a few clothes richer, and few too many chestnuts fatter. My favorite xmas moment: during an obligatory before dinner thanx the phrase, "and thank you for the baby Jesus" is uttered.

Saw State and Main. I highly recommend it.

As we turn our thoughts toward the new year, lets take a quick moment to be thankful for the baby Jesus...

Went to a work x-mas party yesterday. It was in a suburb of Minneapolis. So strange and surreal the midwestern suburbs. Like we freeze framed leave it to beaver. Copied it. And had it replicated through out the gated communities of modern suburbia.

And so the Christmas holiday is upon us. ring ching aling...

I find it odd that people argue with me that Christ-Mas is not a religious holiday. Secular-scmecular...I love you Jesus. Oddly my family (who, by the way, hasn't been to church since they converted the lighting from oil to electricity) celebrates this holiday. I don't think my brother can even spell Jesus. But you gotta hand it to the Christians. They co-opt a few pagan symbols, added a big fat red guy, and launched a holiday into super stardom.

Been sending out resumes and such the past few days. Damn is job hunting a tiring endeavor. One company had me take a web based quiz to see how proficient I am in certain technologies. Nothing worse than taking a quiz that ask you to finish code online.

As many may know, the company I work for(techies.com) laid of a ton of people last week. Today is my first day back after the layoffs. I was kinda of hoping I would get laid off as well, but I was one of the "lucky" ones who was asked to stay around. It leaves you kind of empty to see all your co-workers go, and you stay. I feel like the guy in the back of the platoon, who was just missed by the mortar shell. I feel lucky, guilty, tired...

Just got the Magnolia dvd in the mail today..."I have so much love to give, but I got no where to put it".

And so we begin the first java servlets test blog. I have been working on a simple servlets based app that will allow me to push xml bloggs to the server, parse and cache these xml files as simple java objects, and then dynamically generate web pages with them. This is the first test post, keeping our fingers crossed...
